Video poker follows all of the rules of regular poker, but it's just played as a one player game. You can play multiple hands which is a lot different than the traditional poker table game where you can typically only play one hand at a time. Some video poker games offer you the chance to play up to 100 hands at one time.

What is Video Poker?

Video Poker is a poker variant, it is a 5-card draw poker that does not involve any other players as it is played on a computerized screen that has the same size of one arm bandits (slot machines). Due to the simple game play and the fact that the game does not involve other players attracted millions of poker fans. Players who do not want to beat other poker hands or feel obligated to bluff in order to win find their refuge at the video poker machines.

What is the Procedure of the Game?

Players will have to specify their stake. At most games, players will be able to see the available stakes and the payout that they will earn if they win. After players place these stakes, they will click on draw. Players will then get five cards. They will be asked to choose the cards that they want to hold. These cards will be the base of their final poker hand that they will be rewarded according to. After players choose the cards they want to hold, they will click on Draw. The cards they did not choose will disappear as they get dealt replacement cards. The five cards they have now is their final poker hand. Players will then be rewarded according to this poker hand. Some games obligate players to have certain hands to be rewarded such as a Pair of Jacks (Jacks or Better) or a Pair of tens (Tens or Better).

This gives players more chances of winning. The best hand out of the 100 hands is the one that gets paid according to the paytable of the game.
